[It is, as Zetta intended, a fiendish and diabolical plan. Capture Lash underneath the mistletoe using the full might of his Overlord powers, then extract concessions from her in exchange for her freedom.]

[Don't bother pointing out that he doesn't need to go through any of that, because that's completely missing the point.]

[So with the mistletoe hanging high above, the Overlord leans against the wall of the hallway with a smug grin on his face.]

[Lash, meanwhile, looks rather unimpressed at what is going on. Probably because she has no idea exactly what is going on.

Why did Zetta drag her somewhere?

Why is there a plant above their head?

Why is nothing exploding?]

This is the lamest kidnapping, you know.

Look, just because we're clothed --!

[Ugh. Zetta drags a hand down his face, then fixes her with a glare.]

I mean -- Hyaaaaha ha ha ha ha! A lame kidnapping, huh? Then why don't you just escape it?

[ It wasn't strange to see this girl coming to visit Eikichi and his little crew while they were rehearsing but what was strange was to see her be a little bit more hesitant than normal sneaking into the room before any of them arrived. She has come armed with a little bentou of home made snacks but there was something slightly different about her this very day.

She quietly closes the door behind her and lays out the bento and a few other snacks on a table in one of the corners. Then, when she's taken a breath to calm herself and she's sure that nobody strange will walk in, she pushes a chair over to the side of the entryway door, stepping up on it and trying to tie something to the frame itself. It's actually a little more difficult than she thought it would be. ]

[???]

...'kay.

[She gives one one more confused look before showing him how easy it is to slam into an invisible wall and fall flat on the ground.]

Hey! What gives?! What did you do?!

[Eikichi had been walking there when he had noticed from the corner of his eye, a figure bolting to their meeting location. Of course he was used to seeing Miyabi sneak in but something about her today seemed off. She seemed almost nervous and thankfully hadn't noticed him (he was admittedly hard to see from where he had been standing.)

Well it certainly is no one strange, but he was a little early himself. The bros wouldn't arrive for a good twenty more minutes. So it doesn't take too long for someone to knock on the door. Even if he could have just walked in...]

Hello? Miyabi?

[ There is a small squeak from her as she hears the knock on the door and she freezes. Is he going to come in? Can she get this tied on quick enough? He was early. He's not supposed to be early. Obviously she should have devised some kind of distraction but who could she even ask to distract him?

Lisa? No. That..no.

She continues trying to tie the mistletoe onto the door frame but the urgency is making things more difficult than they should be. So she tries to change her voice which ends up just making her sound more like a little squirrel. ]

Miyabi isn't here right now. Just a figment of your imagination.

[Oh ho ho? Is she playing some sort of game? Sorry Miyabi, you can't mask that voice. Well...he can play back. Eikichi leans against the door and grins, not knowing what's happening.]

Oh ho ho? Is that so, not Miyabi? Well, if she's a figment of my imagination, she's definitely my most beautiful and favorite!

[ His response makes her freeze for just a moment, a small blush creeping over her cheeks and a telltale smile playing over her lips. She stays really quiet for a very short moment, finally fixing the mistletoe to the door frame and hops down from the chair.

She takes a deep breath to try and calm her jumpy heart and opens the door just enough to reveal half of her face. ]

Eikichi-kun...

[ Her voice was chastising in a very teasing way. ]

It's difficult to surprise you when you say things like that.

[And there she is, grinning back at him as he gives her a tiny little wink from his side, giving her a finger gun. For anyone else, got this would be cheesy, but this is Eikichi and Miyabi where one is pretty sure that this is part of their routine life. The type where other couples look on disgustingly and wonder how long it's gonna last (hint: forever).]

Well babe, I'm only telling the truth!

...although I wasn't expecting a surprise...sorry, I got off early from pops so I figured I'd come here and write a few lyrics.

[ There's a soft giggle from her a moment as she glances down towards the ground, as if she were thinking over that question. Her expression grows really serious for the moment before the door slides open just that little bit more; enough to reveal her whole self but not enough for him to slide past her into the room if that was what he wanted to do. ]

[ She's trying very hard to keep a straight face but there is a light smile trying to breath through. If he looked up, he would be able to guess the password. ]

[Miyabi, you know he has trouble if people are telling lies or not so for a hot second he all but panics that he's done something bad before he notices she's smiling. PHEW.

Except why would he look up, if he's looking directly at her.]

Uh....Gas Chamber?

[He is not good at password guessing either.]

[ She tucks her hair behind her ear and shakes her head slowly at him. Eikichi, you can definitely do better than that. She takes a very small half step towards him. ]

The password is just for you.

[ Well, if that helps any. ]

[Miyabi, you're just going to make this worse as he stands there, raising an eyebrow in interest...before choosing the most logical answer.]

Oh! Then that's easy. It's Miyabi of course.

[Well not that he thinks of her as his property, more like she's just for him!]

[ And her cheeks turn an interesting shade of pink. That was the most obvious answer of course but never the one she ever expects. How did she find the most perfect person and how did things end up like this? She still didn't have those answers and most likely will be asking that question for the rest of her life.

But she shakes her head again, this time her smile widening. ]

You're very close.

[ And she brings her face up next to her cheek, finger pointing up and signalling for him to look up. ]

[She was so cute like that. He does as he's told and hey! There's a plant literally a few inches above him. Maybe if he'd looked up before.]

Is that...Mistletoe?

[He's read enough ~~hentai~~ manga to know where this is going. He looks down at his phone, flips it open (because it's 1999) and then looks to her.]

Should I tell the guys that practice is canceled?

[ Well, she wasn't trying to be that forward. Mistletoe is just for kissing, Eikichi! The other things that follow should happen organically.

But ... well... if he's offering. She turns her back towards him to hide her bright red cheeks and the smile on her lips. ]

I will leave that decision up to you. I do really enjoy hearing you sing.

[Miyabi maybe you needed your ears checked. Eikichi looks down at his phone again, pondering some more...]

...alright then....

[Numbers are called. Plans are canceled...(wait why do they seem so relieved? Well whatever). And when it is done, he finally speaks again directly to her, from the back.]

...how about a little solo act for tonight?

[ The flush across her cheeks burn as she realizes that he really is doing this. Definitely not what she was expecting. She had made enough snack food for everybody and not it was just the two of them.

Not that she was going to turn down eating more food.

And excuse you, Eikichi. Love knows no boundaries. She whirls back around, wide smile, bright red cheeks and a slightly shy expression. ]

You'll put on a show just for me?

Haven't you learned not to underestimate the power of an Overlord? BEHOLD! [He sweeps one hand up dramatically, to call her attention to the hanging mistletoe.] Now you should see how diabolical my plan truly is!

[She looks up and stares at the plant, utterly confused. Certainly Zetta has some plan behind it (he just said that, after all). But what does it mean?]

...wait so this is...caused by the dead plant? Is it some sort of demonic plant I'm not aware of? Did you take up gardening?

[And no spikes on it either. Why is this thing so powerful and deadly? Black hole didn't really have mistletoe parties, as Zetta might expect.]

So what's the catch? How does it work?

You're overthinking it, and also, what the hell, you've never heard of holiday mistletoe? I thought everyone had heard of that.

[This just got more awkward...]

[Or maybe had not expected, evidently. Lash just looked back, confused.]

Missle...toe...why is something named that awesome something I've never heard of!?
